Julie Oostvogels becomes our new Business Unit Manager and joins the Benelux Leadership team

Tuesday, 3 October 2023 - A lot can change in five years, and oona knows that only too well. What began as an innovative PR agency with lofty dreams has grown into an established community-first agency with a portfolio that includes IKEA, Gucci, Uniqlo, and Samsung. Our clients and projects are getting bigger, more complex, and more ambitious, which means our team has to keep up. Meet Julie Oostvogels, who landed at oona after an impressive track record at Publicis, LDV and TBWA.

“Julie has a knack for strategy,” says Communications Director Shanice Engel. “In recent years, she’s gained buckets of experience within traditional agencies, working with high-profile corporate clients. But beyond that, she also has an affinity with communities and a solid belief in strong stories that move people. She’s a perfect cross-over between head and heart.”

As our Business Unit Manager, Julie will be responsible for key accounts within the Benelux region, and she will join the Leadership team. “I've been following Julie for a while, and we connected right away,” says CEO Werner De Smet. “I know what she's capable of, and I know she can handle our key accounts. Julie will manage our most important, high-profile clients and projects smoothly and decisively, injecting her industry knowledge into our organization and supporting oona's growth in a significant, tangible way.”

And Julie seems eager to do just that. “As a community-first agency, oona has a solid reputation,” she says. “But it’s also a cool agency with a strong culture of its own. I've learned a lot at traditional agencies, and I'm looking forward to applying that knowledge within a different structure. My role within the LST will allow me to really make my mark on the organization, which is very exciting. Because I truly believe in the future of oona. I’m eager to see the company thrive, and even more so to be a part of that.”

Over the course of her stints at Publicis, LDV and TBWA, Julie learned the tricks of the trade in PR and advertising. But she also discovered what it’s like to work with high-end clients and oversee ambitious projects. She now brings her strategic insight, years of experience, and passion for stories to the table as oona’s Business Unit Manager for the Benelux region.
